I’ve been on a quest for about as long as I can remember to ‘find my creative voice’, (which I always think is an unfortunate phrase as it sounds like I am eventually going to find it tucked behind a sofa cushion). It’s elusive and every time you think you have just about got there, you make some work that’s a bit of a curveball and you decide you’re going to have to rethink things all over again.
Currently my happy place is layering up and mixing a range of materials to make my work. I love getting stuck into drawings of the natural world, walks in the countryside, quiet little scenes and life drawing.
This newsletter is going to be a monthly little peak into my thoughts on my work development, the creative process and what’s currently in my sketchbook. I’ll also be sharing new work for sale in my shop. Give us a subscribe if you want to follow along with me in my journey (sorry). I hope we can share some useful ideas between us on the way!
About me
Just a girl, sat in front of a blank page, trying to fill it.. (yep, film fan over here).
I’m Sarah, an illustrator living in Oxford. I have a background in editorial and publishing illustration and I also sell originals and prints of my work. You can find me sitting at a little desk in my house, border collie underfoot, trying not to spill my jar of paint water yet again.
